St James's Art Books

Art books & Paintings

St. James’s Art Books opened in 1993 in Piccadilly Arcade. The gallery deals mainly with modern graphics of the School of Paris and with Soviet Impressionist paintings.

Modern Graphics. We always have a large number of lithographs by Chagall, signed and unsigned, both of religious and secular subjects. We are also generally well stocked with lithographs by Matisse, Miro and Picasso of whom we also have etchings and linocuts.

Drawings. We carry original drawings by a number of artists mainly French 1900-1950 such as, Andre Lhote, Steinlein, Georges Gobo, Georges Picard, Ludovic Rodo Pissarro among others.

Oil Paintings. In the last few years we have acquired a large stock of oil paintings by Soviet Painters mainly of the ’50s and ’60s such as Lomykin, Sosnovsky among many others. These works are becoming increasingly collectable.

Prices are inclusive of frames when mentioned as present and of all VAT (special scheme) charges.

We are well known and established in the London art market and most of our business is conducted from our gallery premises, the majority of our clients having been with us for many years. We always welcome visits from new clients, because in order to be appreciated the works should be seen ‘in the flesh’. However we recognise this is not always possible and hence we are bringing you this site with a selection of our stock. We would be delighted to offer you our full assistance with any further enquiries you may have.
